Summer trip part 3: Creation Museum

Here are a few pictures of our visit to the Creation Museum.  We bought a two day pass, planning to visit the museum Sunday and Monday, then head on Tuesday to our family reunion in Northern Indiana.

The museum has put together a walk through of the Genesis account of creation including the first sin and the fall of mankind.  They did a great job and it was a very neat experience.  Here they are walking through the Garden of Eden.

Here is a picture of Adam and Eve.

They had a petting zoo with some unusual animals outside.  It was SO hot-I didn't take a lot of pictures because I was trying to keep Samuel in the shade.

There are not a lot of pictures because we went on a Sunday.  It didn't open until noon.  And guess what noontime is?  Benjamin's nap time!  So we took an already exhausted TWO YEAR OLD to a non-hand's on museum, AT HIS NAP TIME.  Can you imagine?  Yes, imagine a raging, tantruming little boy, screaming his way through the museum.  Literally, it was one fit after another.  We paid for a two day pass to the museum and had planned to visit all day Sunday and all day Monday.  After 2 1/2 hours we, and Benjamin had seen all we could see of the museum and we decided not to go back on Monday.

I would highly recommend the museum for people with older children.  There is a lot to learn and a lot to read.  That is too hard with littles.  You can go with little's but go in the morning and plan to trade off with your spouse.  That way one of you can enjoy reading and learning at the various exhibits while the other entertains the toddler and then swap off.  We should have done this but, I had Samuel sleeping on my chest so Steve had to manage Benjamin the whole time.  Live and learn.
