Needed to be in the woods...

There is something very therapeutic about going to the woods.  At least for me.  I've not been going out very much lately, even though I have clearance from the midwife to do so.  I've just been so tired!  But  last Thursday evening I determined that I was in need of some therapy.  Forest therapy.  Some of my favorite trails are about 20 minutes from our house at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center.  I got up Friday morning and got the kids up, fed, and out of the house as quickly as possible.

Benjamin...  I wanted to get some really cute pictures of him in jean overalls, somehow I just never got those on him.  Instead, just a plain, blueberry stained onsie was it.  It is becoming harder for me to dress my kiddos cute.  Onsies, onsies, onsies.  Well, he is still cute.  Look at that face.

He has become quite a proficient walker.  He even tries to run now, but usually falls over.  :)

Andrew, my nature spy.

Isaac and I love the variety of ferns in this forest.

We had a fun time chasing this butterfly around while it hopped along the ground.  We decided it must have been drinking the dew from the small plants that were still wet.

The boys actually saw a fly in what they think were carnivorous pitcher plants.  Unfortunately I was too pooped out by the time we got home to do any research to what they really were.

There is a water museum inside the Environmental and Heritage center that the boys love.  I ended going ahead and taking them in there to play.  It was Benjamin's first time and he loved it!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I love going to the Gwinnett Environmental Heritage Center too! Perhaps we can meet there sometime. We've never been inside the museum before. Hope you've been feeling a bit better this week.
