Yosemite and Four!

We arrived late to our campsight at Yosemite.  We would only have one night and one day in the park.  I had originally planned on three nights, but the second campsight only had unlevel spots which I thought we could deal with until the lady told us at the RV rental place, the fridge wouldn't work if the RV wasn't level.  So we canceled our nights at the unlevel campground!

The boys wanted to get into the creek right away, so before it got dark we all trecked into the water.

Samuel's favorite thing was to stand on a sand bar and throw rocks in! Here he is very delighted at the splash he just made!

Benjamin was just, apparently, alltogether happy.

It was his fourth birthday after all.  He must have known it was a very special day!  We told him happy birthday all day long!

Here he is examining a ladybug he found.  He loves little critters.

We ate dinner out, and while we were eating, I had a simple boxed cake baking in the oven.  I didn't realize how being tilted while we were parked would make the cake so uneven!  But it was fine!  The kids certainly didn't care!

I had brought from home a bag of "Curious George" party stuff that I had gotten for a dollar at a yard sale a long time ago, thinking that I might need it one day.  It was perfect!

Next morning we drove into, truly, a heavenly beautiful place!  This scene was just breathtaking.  I can only imagine what it would be like to be here, with no one else (there were massive crowds), and just mediating on God's glorious beauty in His creation.

This is the famous "upper and lower falls".  Unfortunately, Steve didn't get to come and see it.  Samuel had gone to sleep and he let me run out with Micah, Andrew and Benjamin to see it on our way out.  We ended up not even staying for the day.  Andrew started complaining of a stomach ache again, and began moaning in the back of the RV when we pulled into the parking lot.  The crowds were just unbelievably massive.  Think Disney World plus some.  I don't do well with crowds, especially with five children.  So we just saw a few things and headed on out'a there!  It is a beautiful place, and would be wonderful to go to during the off season.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....and God saw everything he had made, and, behold, it was very good."

Ahh, beautiful, breath-taking Yosemite! Even though your visit there was short and it was so crowded, the pictures you took are great! :-)
