My faith....

Romans 1: 15-17

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:  "The righteous will live by faith."

I just got a sad comment to my last post...

"Ummmm... oookaaay... I'm athiest and I'm pretty sure this stopped me from reading the rest of your posts... so yeah... um... I'd be more careful in the future it kind of lowers your popularity with all those not sharing your religion..."

I don't think this person will be reading my blog anymore.  But their comment helped to deepen my conviction to share my faith, on my blog, in my life, wherever I am.  My blog.... what is the purpose of it?  Is it to share my convictions on the blessings of children, or the challenges of homeschooling, or my methods of homeschooling, or even just to share my day to day life with four boys?  I hope not.

I do so want to share my inner life, my struggles, my triumphs, my joys and my sorrows.  In the hopes that others, both those who know the Jesus as their Savior, and those who don't, might be somehow encouraged.  My desire is that my blog would give people a glimpse into my life.  Every part of my life, including the most important part, and that is my faith.  I want to give glory to God because he has been so good to me.

I was just thinking today that there is a certain "blogreality", which is a false reality that people's blogs give.  We tend to post, even I struggle with this, all the wonderful events of our days.  And we leave out the harsh  realities of our lives.  I'm often left with the impression that "wow, all these other women are perfect mothers.  Look at what they do with their kids all the time.  They must never raise their voice at their children, their houses must be clean all the time.  They have it all together."

My desire is to try and be transparent so that others can see that, if they struggle, so do I.  We are all pilgrims together, walking, stumbling, climbing, and moving towards eternity together.

Abby,

Your post made me think of this text in Colossians 3. Especially v. 11 stood out in my mind....Christ is ALL!

3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I hope this text from Hebrews 10 will encourage you:
36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37 For,

“Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
38 but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”

39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Praise God for His saving work in you or for the grace He gives that we may not shrink back.

We are continuing to pray for y'all.

Christ bless,
Bobby

your blog wouldn't be authentic if you left out your faith!

I can't help but wonder if the person who left that comment is a regular reader of your blog. You frequently talk about God and your faith. Why did that one post suddenly strike a nerve? His Word will not return void. Perhaps a seed was planted.

What a beautiful post. I am so thankful that you DON'T filter and censor what you write. Your humility shows the world how strong you are. I am desperate to know what the deleted posts said though ;)
