The morning that this picture was taken I read my sister's blog and she talked about doing the most important things and not worrying as much about a clean house. This is really hard for me. But I realized that the day before I had had a really bad day, BUT my house was literally clean almost the entire day, which for having 4 boys that is a real feat! So I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned, always picking up and maintaining things, but at the end of the day I was miserable! I hadn't spent good times with my kids and my focus was all wrong! So when I woke up the next day and read my sister's blog, I decided to try things differently. So this is a picture of me with dirty dishes that stayed there until.......okay, just from breakfast until lunch but hey that is progress for me. I tend to need my kitchen to be clean at all times and I hurridly do dishes immediately after a meal. It is kind of OC. So I just left things. (Now I'm thinking to myself why didn't I have the kids do their after meal time chores, which is Isaac:load dishes, Micah:Clear and wipe table, and Andrew:sweep under the table with electric broom)
So, instead of cleaning all day, I read to the boys.... (Isaac is taking the picture)
I gazed into the most beautiful eyes in the world! :)
And I gotta lots of Andrew smiles!
Next post is what we did after book time...

I've found this to be true in my home as well. Life is so much more peaceful and joyful when I put the OC cleaning aside and focus on what's most important!
A sweet and beautiful post!!!! I left the housework toda too and we went out and were outdoors for over 4 hrs today!!! YAY!
