God gave the beauty of creation to us: We gave our boys the gift of going and seeing some of His wonders this year. In 2012 we will see the "Seven Wonders of Georgia" which are Tullulah Gorge, Warm Springs, Providence Canyon, Radium Springs, Okefenokee Swamp, Stone Mountain and Amicalola Falls. We went to Tullulah Gorge the week after Christmas. It was beautiful as we drove past it on our way to eat at the Dillard House but when we came back a foggy rain cloud had settled on the mountain. I think it made it even more beautiful but because of the wet conditions we couldn't hike to the bottom so we promised a trip back in Spring. It's only an hour or so from our house so it will be a fun day trip.
We are going to Okefenokee Swamp soon and since we are so close we will also visit Jekyll Island. We can't wait! Here are the pictures of Tullulah Gorge that we took with Steve's I-phone! I forgot to bring the CF card for our camera! Oops! Sometimes that phone really comes in handy!
We really had a great time together. I'm finding the older our boys get the funner our family time together is. I love having little ones and having littles and older children at the same time is a unique joy and privilege. I know I post a lot about how much work I have to do, but I hope my readers know that truly, I count it all joy to serve Christ in such a blessed way-in raising this beautiful family. I'm so thankful for my husband and for each of my sons. Someone asked me recently, "How do you feel about not having any girls?" My response was something like this, "I'm content because I am so in love with each of my boys." I wouldn't wish it any different.

Benjamin, he gives exuberance and energy
Samuel, he gives cuddles and kisses and big, bright smiles
I look forward to lots more trips out with the boys, as well as dinners around the table, stories on the couch, games sprawled out on the floor, chores tackled together, and all the things we do with one another-both extravagant and common.

We have enjoyed almost all of those adventures; I didn't even know they're the "Seven Wonders of Georgia!" Before you go to Providence Canyon, I wanted to warn you to be careful... when we hiked there, our oldest was about 10, and he was exploring a bit off of the trail when he stepped in quicksand or something like it. It looked like a little slick muddy spot- the kind you wouldn't think twice about. One leg sunk quickly into it to the thigh before he grabbed some brush and we got him out. It was scary, but we did have a great time other than that incident. If you stay overnight in that area (there's not much there!), check out Westville Village. That was fun, too. Happy travels!
